And yes, overweight people ARE marginalized socially in many ways, ask any overweight person. This issue puts the lie to many people's professed belief in human respect and dignity. As for the link between weight and health, weight is one of many, many factors which determine a person's overall health, many of which are far more important than weight but get far less attention because most people lose weight not to get healthy but to open the doors of society to them. |
