| Frankly, it is idealistic to expect otherwise. Not because they were bad projects paperback - none of them were, but most suffered from the lack of opportunities to showcase them - especially here in Singapore. Which explains why I got really cheesed off when i saw paperback a ridiculously huge blurb published in a few media on a photo exhibition of a certain celebrity student from my alma mater that would be held at sculpture square. Not that her photos were bad, but why does a celebrity warrant more paperback publicity for her works - shortcutting the exact same things that every undergraduate have to go through? It sounds an acute case of sour grapes, but in reality i am lamenting at how luck plays a big part in dictating your future. Especially in my field of study, sheer hard work may not be enough. Some people just have it easier than others. Things you can never do by yourself Singletons are a marginalised breed. This revelation follows a discussion with a bearded fellow singleton about some of the things that you can never do by yourself. |
