The early albums were remarkable not only for his drumming (Pierce pretty much originated the live jungle thing), but also for the fact that he played every instrument, from acoustic guitar and Chinese zither to bass and drums, and of course vibes. Not only marco carola that, but each part on each track was recorded in one take, giving the music an exuberance marco carola of spirit not often found in electronica. More recently, Mice Parade went on tour in marco carola Europe with a full band, including Dylan Cristy of the Dylan Group, and Doug Scharin of Him. While the band members were all superb musicians and the live gigs no doubt rocked, their addition, and the free jazz elements thrown into the mix, turned Mice Parade into something different from its origins. It’s thus a great pleasure to find that the new album is, by and large, a return to the multi-tracked one-take recordings of old.
